Lachlan Craig Beelitz has pleaded guilty to three offences; two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 17 years, and one count of aggravated procuring a child for sexual activity.

In court on 26 FEBRUARY 2024, Judge Durrant said;

"You took advantage of your victim. She was your subordinate. You knew of her young age. You groomed her into performing sexual acts purely to satisfy your own sexual urges".

The History of Lachlan Beelitz

Lachlan was 23 at the time of his sentencing, he was born and raised in Millicent. His Dad was reported to be an alcoholic who caused physical and verbal abuse. His parents divorced, and he moved to Mount Gambier with his Mum and older Brother.

He still saw his Father one weekend a fortnight, however they never had a strong bond and could not find any common interests. His Mum was no saint, she developed a drug addiction and suffered depression which caused her to be a neglectful parent. His older bother started to get messed up in the wrong crowd which resulted Lachlan to left to his own devices.

In 2014, when he was in year 8, he was expelled for sending sexually inappropriate messages to female classmates. Even after moving schools he continued in the solicitation of nude photos from females and threatening female classmates. Multiple of which reported his behaviour to police.

He suffered a long-term relationship break up with is Girlfriend in 2017, this caused his to be extremely depressed and was admitted to hospital because of his depression.

He left year 12 in 2018 and started his job at Domino's which lasted for the next three years. During this time he would be promoted to shift supervisor.

His Offending

In January 2022, he met the victim as she started to work at the same Domino's (Mount Gambier) as himself. He was her supervisor and she was 16 at the time. They added each other on Snapchat and it wasn't long before he was asking her to send nude photos, which she did.

Between April and July of 2022, when she was still the of 16, his sexual offending occurred. On multiple occasions he would picked her up from home or work at night and drive to a car park. He would ask her to get into the back and take off her shirt. He would then push her head toward his penis and ask he to perform fellatio.

He even gave her cigarettes and cash in exchange.

Early on 8 July 2022 she messaged him asking if he could pick her up from her friend's place and he agreed only if she would send nudes and perform oral sex. She agreed to send Lachlan the nudes.

He then drove her home at 04:00hrs but continued to message her asking for sex. She finally agreed and he drove back to pick her up from her home, he then took her to his home and you engaged in sexual intercourse. During the sex, he asked her to take photos of herself on his phone.

He then drove her back home that morning and transferred her $200 as an exchange for the sex and photos.
