Missing: Daryl Norris

Cleve resident Daryl Norris, a cherished family figure, has been missing for nearly a week, leaving the local community and authorities deeply concerned. Mr. Norris is described as a Caucasian male, 183cm tall, with a slim build.

The 59-year-old was last seen departing his Cleve residence at 8.30pm on Tuesday, February 4, and the situation has taken a worrisome turn.

Cleve is located in the central east Eyre Peninsula, a large triangular body of land in South Australia. Many of the areas geological and geographical features are responsible for the use of the land and types of natural vegetation present.

The landscape has been heavily modified since European settlement and now is predominantly farming land, with patches of native scrub in places. The Cleve Hills are a major topographical feature of the region and have areas of preserved vegetation in their bounds.

Mr. Norris, known for occasional brief absences from home, has never been out of contact for such an extended period. What adds to the gravity of the situation is the fact that he left home on foot, equipped with only a small food supply, and crucially, without his phone and wallet.

An extensive search operation, covering a 3.6km radius around Cleve, has been initiated by the police. This thorough search involves the use of advanced technology, including a police helicopter and a drone. Despite these efforts, there has been no breakthrough in locating Mr. Norris.

Eyre Western operations inspector Mark Hubbard expressed grave concerns for Mr. Norris's welfare, emphasising the urgency of the situation. Efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful so far, prompting the police to heighten their concerns.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, Mr. Norris suffers from a medical condition, intensifying worries about his well-being. The lack of communication with his family further compounds the concerns for his safety.
